Home
Use Home as your daily money dashboard. It brings balance, recent transactions, scheduled items, budgets, and key shortcuts into one place.
- Open Home.
- Review balance card.
- Review recent transactions.
- Review scheduled transactions.
- Review budget overview.
- Use Quick Actions for Smart Entry, Transactions, Activities, Budget, Categories, and Backup.
Add Transaction
Record expenses, income, and transfers with the details needed for accurate balances, reports, budgets, and activity tracking.
- Open add transaction form.
- Select transaction type: Expense, Income, or Transfer.
- Enter amount.
- Select category.
- Select account.
- Add note, date, tags, documents, or activity if needed.
- Save.
Smart Entry
Create a transaction faster by typing a natural phrase. ExpenseKit reads the amount, account, category, and date so you can review and save.
- Open Smart Entry.
- Type transaction text, like Coffee 120 cash yesterday.
- Review detected type and details.
- Change category, account, or date if needed.
- Save.
Outcome: App creates transaction from parsed details.
Voice Input
Use voice input when typing is inconvenient. Short spoken entries work best for quick expenses, income, and cash notes.
- Open Voice Input.
- Tap microphone.
- Speak transaction details.
- Review detected result.
- Save or retry.
Note: Use short phrases with amount, category, account, and date.
Recent Transactions
Review, filter, sort, edit, and delete your transaction history from one transaction management view.
- Open Recent Transactions.
- Use sort menu to change order.
- Tap Advanced Filters.
- Filter by type, date, account, category, tags, attachment, or activity.
- Tap transaction to view details.
- Edit or delete when needed.
Multi-Select Transactions
Use multi-select when you need to clean up several visible transactions at once.
- Open Recent Transactions.
- Enable select mode.
- Tap transactions.
- Use Select Visible if needed.
- Tap Delete.
- Confirm.
Transaction Details
Open a transaction to verify every saved detail, update the record, delete it, or convert it into a scheduled transaction.
- Tap transaction.
- Review amount, category, account, date, note, activity, tags, and attachments.
- Tap Edit to update.
- Tap Delete to remove.
- Tap Schedule Transaction to turn it into a recurring transaction.
Attachments
Attach receipts, invoices, screenshots, or documents so each transaction keeps its supporting proof in the same record.
- Open transaction form.
- Add document or image attachment.
- Save transaction.
- Open transaction detail to view attachments.
Activities
Create activities to group related transactions for trips, events, medical care, home projects, weddings, or other real-life spending moments.
- Open Activities.
- Tap Create Activity.
- Enter Title.
- Select Date.
- Add optional Note.
- Tap Create Activity.
Select Activity For Transaction
Link a transaction to an activity while adding or editing it, so activity totals and reports stay complete.
- Open transaction form.
- Find Attach to Activity.
- Select existing activity or tap + to create one.
- Save transaction.
Outcome: Transaction appears inside activity detail.
View Activity
Open an activity to see its total cost, linked transactions, notes, filters, and actions for export, backup, edit, or delete.
- Open activity.
- Review title, date, note, and Net Total.
- Review linked Transactions.
- Sort or filter transactions.
- Export, backup, edit, or delete from activity actions.
Note: Deleting activity does not delete linked transactions.
Activity Insights
Compare repeat activities with the same title to understand usual spend, top categories, and spending changes over time.
- Create multiple activities with same title.
- Link transactions to each activity.
- Open latest activity.
- Review previous spend, usual range, spending alert, and top categories.
Note: Advanced insights may require ExpenseKit+.
Budgets
Create monthly or yearly budgets to set spending limits and monitor category-based progress.
- Open Budgets.
- Choose Monthly or Yearly.
- Tap Create Budget.
- Enter budget amount.
- Select period.
- Select categories.
- Save.
View Budget Details
Use budget details to check spend, remaining balance, linked transactions, and whether a budget needs adjustment.
- Open Budgets.
- Tap budget card.
- Review budget amount, spent amount, remaining amount, and transactions.
- Edit or delete if needed.
Categories
Manage expense and income categories so reports, budgets, insights, and transaction entry stay organized.
- Open Choose Categories.
- Switch between expense and income categories.
- Use list or grid view.
- Sort categories.
- Tap create category.
- Enter category name.
- Select icon and color.
- Save.
Edit Or Delete Category
Update custom categories when naming, color, icon, or usage no longer matches how you track money.
- Open Choose Categories.
- Find category.
- Tap Edit or Delete.
- Confirm changes.
Note: Custom category limits may require ExpenseKit+.
Accounts
Use accounts to separate cash, cards, bank accounts, wallets, and other places where money moves.
- Open Accounts.
- Review total balance and cashflow health.
- Tap add account.
- Enter account name.
- Enter initial balance.
- Choose account icon.
- Save.
Account Details
Review one account to understand income, expenses, net flow, starting balance, and related transactions.
- Tap account.
- Review income, expenses, net flow, initial balance, and transactions.
- Tap edit to update account.
- Tap delete to remove account.
Ignore Account From Balance
Exclude an account from total balance when it should remain trackable but not affect your main balance view.
- Open account edit.
- Enable ignore-from-balance option.
- Save.
Outcome: Account remains usable but excluded from total balance.
Scheduled Transactions
Create recurring expenses or income for bills, salary, subscriptions, rent, and other repeating money activity.
- Open Scheduled Transactions.
- Tap create.
- Select transaction type.
- Enter amount and note.
- Select category and account.
- Choose frequency: daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly.
- Set start date and time.
- Set reminder if needed.
- Set end date if needed.
- Enable Auto-log Trans. if wanted.
- Set status active or inactive.
- Save.
Manage Scheduled Transactions
Pause, reactivate, edit, or delete scheduled transactions as recurring payments change.
- Open Scheduled Transactions.
- Switch between Active and Inactive.
- Tap scheduled transaction.
- Edit fields or delete.
Expense Analysis
Use analysis charts and reports to understand spending by period, category, cash flow, and trends.
- Open analysis tab.
- Select month/year period.
- Review charts, summary, category distribution, cash flow, and insights.
- Change chart view type if available.
- Tap fullscreen for bigger chart.
- Tap share/export to export image, PDF, CSV, or print report.

AI Insights
Review AI insights for anomalies, spending patterns, saving opportunities, budget recommendations, and financial health context.

Yearly Recap
Use yearly recap to summarize annual spending patterns and share a polished report.

Tags
Add tags for flexible labels across transactions, such as work, family, trip, reimbursable, or tax-related records.

Achievements And Streaks
Track consistency with streaks and achievements that reward regular money tracking habits.
- Add transactions regularly.
- Open streak or Achievements.
- Review current streak and longest streak.
- Review unlocked achievements.
- Share achievement if wanted.
Cloud Backup And Restore
Create cloud backups so ExpenseKit data can be restored when changing devices, reinstalling, or recovering from data loss.
- Open Cloud Backup & Restore.
- Create backup.
- Review backup status.
- Restore from backup when needed.
- Delete old backup if needed.
Note: Backup includes expenses, activities, categories, accounts, tags, budgets, scheduled transactions, and related receipt/document references stored by backup service.
Import And Export Data
Move data into or out of ExpenseKit with supported imports, exports, reports, and activity backup files.
- Open import/export screen.
- For export, choose export format and time period.
- Export all-time or selected year.
- Share or open exported file.
- For import, choose CSV, Excel, or JSON activity backup.
- Select file.
- Review import result.
Note: CSV and Excel imports skip detected duplicates. JSON activity restore validates file and reuses matching transactions when possible.
Activity Backup Restore
Restore a single activity from a JSON backup without rebuilding the activity manually.
- Tap Restore Activity Backup.
- Select JSON backup file.
- Confirm restore.
Outcome: Activity restored. Matching transactions reused when possible.
Expense Settings
Customize transaction display, balance behavior, reminders, decimals, and default entry preferences.
- Open Expense Settings.
- Toggle balance card visibility.
- Choose whether expense or income shows in balance card.
- Toggle 24-hour format.
- Set reminder time.
- Adjust decimal display.
- Configure default account or category if available.
App Settings
Manage app-level preferences such as theme, backup folder, app lock, analytics preference, and reset options.

Country And Currency
Set the correct country so ExpenseKit uses the right currency symbol and regional formatting.
