Getting Started with ExpenseKit
Start with the Home screen, finish onboarding, then use Quick Actions to create transactions, activities, budgets, categories, and backup.
Onboarding
Complete onboarding to personalize ExpenseKit around your goals, savings target, and reminder preference.
- Review welcome screens.
- Choose main goal.
- Set savings goal if asked.
- Configure notification preference.
- Finish setup.
Home
Use Home as your daily money dashboard. It brings balance, recent transactions, scheduled items, budgets, and key shortcuts into one place.
- Open Home.
- Review balance card.
- Review recent transactions.
- Review scheduled transactions.
- Review budget overview.
- Use Quick Actions for Smart Entry, Transactions, Activities, Budget, Categories, and Backup.
Add Transaction
Record expenses, income, and transfers with the details needed for accurate balances, reports, budgets, and activity tracking.
- Open add transaction form.
- Select transaction type: Expense, Income, or Transfer.
- Enter amount.
- Select category.
- Select account.
- Add note, date, tags, documents, or activity if needed.
- Save.
Smart Entry
Create a transaction faster by typing a natural phrase. ExpenseKit reads the amount, account, category, and date so you can review and save.
- Open Smart Entry.
- Type transaction text, like Coffee 120 cash yesterday.
- Review detected type and details.
- Change category, account, or date if needed.
- Save.
Outcome: App creates transaction from parsed details.
Notifications
Enable notifications to receive daily reminders and stay consistent with expense tracking.
- Tap Enable Notifications.
- Allow system notification permission.
- Set daily reminder time in settings.
